My mom tells a story about a woman who was sitting near us in a restaurant. She was watching me draw and said, "Your daughter is going to be an artist someday." I was 6 years old then and still have many of those drawings.

When I graduated from Ellensburg High School, I knew I had to go to art school. In the early 90's, I found my way to Seattle's School of Visual Concepts. At this incredible school, under the guidance of working artists, I took every class I could from oil painting, to color theory, figure drawing to pastel. My heart truly soared when I discovered watercolor.

As I traveled down the road of life, distractions crept up, keeping me from my art career. Yet I would not change a thing! I lived on a wonderful 1964 Chris Craft Constellation, married an incredibly supportive man and had two amazing children. Talk about inspiration!

Today I am whole-heartedly pursuing a career in children's book illustration. In May of 2007, I completed a University of Washington Certificate Program in Art for the Children's Market.
